  • Health and Wellness

The Health and Wellness Program provides free health screening, exercise and fitness classes, supports individuals with weight loss and weight maintenance programs, and encourages positive relationships with individuals and healthcare providers.

  • Youth Leadership Training

The Youth Leadership Training program develops teens ages 13 to 17 through service to others and participating as a program and planning improvement advisory to the AWAKE Incorporated Board of Directors. Scholars receive instruction in active listening, peer mediation/conciliation, teamwork, mentoring, economics and money management, planning and follow through.

  • College Preparatory Seminars and College Tours

Students in grades 9th through 12th and their Parents are given information concerning college entrance examinations, resources for financial assistance, and admissions requirements.  An annual college tour is scheduled for the spring of each year to allow students the opportunity to visit several campuses within the Mid-West.

  • Youth Conferences and Retreats

A back to school "Youth Explosion" is held in the fall of each year.  A keynote speaker advises youth in the area of academic excellence, positive peer culture, and future success. 

  • College Scholarships

Annual Scholarships are awarded to high school graduates and current college students for international study.

  • Food Pantry

The Food Pantry provides emergency assistance for individuals and families.  On a semi-annual basis, more than 10,000 lbs of food is distributed to households within the urban community.
